Mom’s changes during post pregnancy
During post pregnancy, after having your little baby, there are many things that will happen. As everybody knows, mom’s body changes a lot during pregnancy but it also changes a lot after the partum.
Appart from physical changes there are also emotional changes that affect to mothers. Most of these changes are normal but it is important to make postpartum checkups in order to be sure that you are recovering well.
Here are the main changes after the partum
- Vaginal discharge: After your baby’s birth, your body gets rid of the blood and tissue that was inside your uterus. First days the flow is abundant but over time, the flow gets less and lighter in color. You may have discharge for weeks or even for a month or more.
- Perineum soreness: The perineum is the area between your vagina and rectum. It stretches and may tear during partum. If you have an episiotomy, which is a cut made at the opening of the vagina, it may sore more.
- Cup size: after birth most women get bigger breasts, especially if the breastfeeding as breasts fill with milk. If you don’t breastfeed it may last until your breasts stop making milk, usually just a few days.
- Nipple pain: if you’re breastfeeding, you may have nipple plain during the first few days, especially if your nipples crack. There are special creams to releve pain.
- Hemorrhoids: they are painful, swollen veins in and around the anus. They may hurt or bleed and are very common during and after pregnancy.
- Hair changes: Most women have fuller and thicker hair during pregnancy. This is because high hormone levels in your body made you lose less hair during pregnancy. After baby is born, hair may thin out and you may lose more hair than normal. Your hair should goes back to normal within a year.
